Inside the tent
A whole world can open beneath one roof.
The Reading Tent is not only about sitting quietly with a book. It brings stories to life through voices, pictures, movement, conversation, creative work and shared family experiences.
Story Circle
Children gather close, listen to expressive reading and discover how a story can feel alive.
Family Reading
Parents and children share books, talk about pictures and build reading memories together.
Creative Corner
Drawing, making, acting and retelling give every child another way into the story.
Word & Sound Games
Playful language activities strengthen listening, vocabulary, confidence and early literacy.
Audio-Visual Stories
Books meet sound and screen so larger groups can see, hear and participate together.
Community Skills
Young people and volunteers gain practical experience in reading, events and creative production.
More than an event
A reading journey that continues.
The tent creates the gathering, but the learning keeps travelling through homes, schools, stories and the digital shelf.
Gather
Children, families, teachers and readers meet in a welcoming shared space.
Read & Create
Participants listen, discuss, play, make and respond to stories in different ways.
Continue
Families and schools take ideas, books and reading habits back into everyday life.

Working together
Our partners help the tent come alive.
Each partner contributes something practical to the experience—from early childhood learning to events skills and audio-visual storytelling.

Kampala Reading Club
Brings reading experience, shared storytelling and a community of readers who help children meet books with joy and confidence.
Read and play beyond the event
The Reading Tent stays open online.
Choose a book for a quiet reading moment, or begin with a playful challenge. Each doorway is clearly marked so children and families can find what they need.
Mini books and reading shelves
Begin with the Little Voices early-reading pathway, or explore stories and original novellas organised by age and stage.

Build confidence through picture puzzles, word play and short interactive challenges. More games will join this collection as the tent grows.

A note from the founder
“A child should not have to enter a formal classroom before a story makes them feel curious, capable and welcome.”Alicia Lund · Founder and Creator, Learn with Alicia
